The latest news on the 30th Relentless Boardmasters Festival in Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay, Cornwall. First of all a massive congratulations to our Natives Competition Winner, Hayley Ralphson, who has won herself a pair of weekend camping tickets! The festival kicks off in less than two weeks! But instead of waiting around until Thursday for the likes of Fat Boy Slim, Newton Faulkner, Bombay Bicycle Club and Jaguar Skills to get you in the mood, why not while away the hours watching the pros tear up the waves?
Surf The surfing competitions start on Monday 8th August featuring the likes of international surfers Tom Whittaker (AUS) Kolohe Andino (USA) and Roy Powers (HAW) among others, as well as home-grown talent and World Games silver medallist Ben Skinner, competing in the Tuaco Longboard Pros to keep the title in his hometown. And doing it for the girls in the longboarding comp is local resident Candice O-Donnell.
And after you've oogled the surfers... there's the Vans Summer Sessions Vert Skate competitions boasting the strongest vert skate line up seen in the UK for many years. Skaters include Andy Scott (UK) Marcelo Batsos (BRZ) and Neal Hendrix (USA) among others competing in events including the under 16 vert challenge, pro best trick and pro final. The first skate event kicks off on the afternoon of Thursday 11th August.
Tickets are going fast. Get yours today! Saturday day tickets, featuring Fatboy Slim, and Thursday night Beach Session ticket, featuring Newton Faulkner, have already sold out. But there's still tickets available to see Fatboy Slim on Saturday 13th August in the form of a weekend ticket. There are still tickets for the Relentles Energy Sessions in the Beach Bar on Wednesday 10th and Sunday 14th August. Go to www.boardmasters.co.uk for tickets. So grab your beach gear and hit up the UK's only surf, skate and music festival.
