Chalet Girl Movie seeks extras in St Anton

10 March 2010 18:05

New Movie - 'The Chalet Girl'
While out in St Anton for the Natives Big Air, I noticed a flyer asking for extras to appear in a new movie ‘The Chalet Girl ’.

The movie is understood to be an adaptation of the book ‘The Chalet Girl’ by Kate Lace (apparently a pseudonym for a well known writer).

It is being partially funded by the Vienna Film Fund, with filming taking place in St Anton, Garmisch and London.   Roxy/Quicksilver are providing ‘branding’ for the film.

Romantic teen comedy
Billed a ‘romantic teen comedy’, the film is about a young girl who discovers her ‘inner snowboarding genius’ as well as a ‘taste for her boss’s son’.

The eponymous chalet girl is being played by Felicity Jones, and the film also stars Bill Nighy (presumably the boss).

Tara Dakides and Torah Bright star
Of more interest to Natives is that both pro-snowboarders Tara Dakides and Torah Bright both also star, and any of the extras taken on for the St Anton scenes will get to share the screen with them.

Razzie nominee
Less promising news is that the director is Phil Traill, whose previous feature film outing was ‘All About Steve’, recently nominated as worst film of the year at the Razzie Awards in Hollywood (it lost out to ‘Transformers: Revenge of the fallen’)

BTW if you'd like to be an extra, you need to be in St Anton between 15-26 March, and contact Nana on chaletgirl@hotmail.com
