On Thursday 25th August 2011, Manchester’s Chill Factore is hosting the snowboarding leg of its Snow Stars Talent Contest.

Manchester’s Chill Factore, home to the UK’s longest indoor real slope, has begun its hunt for the best skiers and snowboarders around.

The Snow Stars Talent Contest for skiers is today (Thursday 18th August), whereas snowboarders have got another week to prepare (Thursday 25th August).

Be the North-West’s next snowboarding sensation
If you’re aged 8-14 years old and willing to demonstrate your potential, you are invited to show off your skills to the Chill Factore team of instructors.

During the 50 minute taster sessions through each event day our instructors will be on hand to invite a lucky few to return for round two of the contest, held in the first week in September.

Morwenna Angove, chief executive at Chill Factore, said: “We are delighted to be offering young people in the North West and beyond this unique opportunity to learn to ski or snowboard at an affordable price and win some great prizes in the process. We’re looking forward to welcoming a wealth of new talent to Chill Factore for the second year running, and look forward to picking the winners to invite back for round two.”

Huge prizes!
The overall ski and snowboard competition winners will receive an amazing Chill Factore prize package, worth over £500, including an Improver 3-week course and a Development Level Lesson for either Skiing or Snowboarding, one year’s annual Membership and a £150 Lift Pass Gift Voucher valid for one year at Chill Factore.

Each session will take place on the beginners slope, and contestants will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm to learn, good balance on the snow and must perform the exercises well on their skis or snowboard to be in with a chance of securing the top prizes.
